4th of July

Mr. Dawson absolutely loves water as mentioned previously. In Kanab he had a blast with the water fountain place.
Mommy and Dawson cuddling.

Dawson was sopping wet from head to toe! He was crawling all over in the fountain. Everyone was laughing and smiling because they couldn't believe how he was loving it so much!

You can see below how he is in the center of the fountain just as happy as can be :)

In the end Kanab was a blast, we were a little disappointed in the 5 minute firework show, but at least we got to see some. We were very happy that J.D. could come home from Cali to spend the 4th with us. Dawson just clung onto him when he walked in the door. He wouldn't let his daddy go. It was very emotional :) and so cute!

Silly Dawson....

He is such a goof ball! He's already sagging his pants!

He absolutely loves bath time. No matter what time or where, he loves it. He also LOVES swimming! He goes crazy! This past month while staying in Holden, we've tried to go swimming everyday with Uncle Parker, and Dawson's cousins- He just splashes everywhere! We usually stay for 2 hours and he is happy the whole time!

Dawson loves to cruise along furniture and climb onto it. His favorite is the glider. He just thinks it is the coolest thing ever invented.

During our days together, I often find him under his high chair. It's a cool fort. :) He loves to pull the bibs out from the shelf on it.

Last, but not least here is our boy zonked out with Grandma Shelley. I thought it was cute how he just fits perfectly and she doesn't even have to hold him. lol!

As for more updates, J.D. got a call last Sunday about going to California to cut hay. He left that morning- so it has just been me and Dawson this week. We aren't sure when he'll come back, but it is so hard to have him gone. :( We might have a daddiless 4th of July.
OH! we went to Dawson's 9 month check up with the doctor and....
He weighs 18lbs 6 oz. putting him in the 14th percentile,
his height is 30 inches putting him in the 91st percentile,
and his head is in the 59th percentile.
So we still have us a tall skinny boy-built like his Grandpa Shelley, and looks like his Daddy.

Lately....

Lately our schedule is stay in holden until Saturday night, drive to Cedar City, go to church Sunday and then drive back to Holden for the week. It has been so much fun spending so much time with everyone. We visit Grandma Stevens everyday, go swimming for 2-3 hours everyday, and then find things to do. Sometimes we go on walks, or clean, but currently we are painting the swing set out back. It's going to be a John Deer green and yellow. Painting takes forever!!!
This weekend Dawson and I came to Cedar City alone. We came on friday so we could get things taken care of and I have a baby shower to go to. My friend Brie is prego! Hurray! She's due in 3 1/2 weeks I believe. It isn't very fun without J.D. around.
Has anyone every had a house but not truly lived in it. Thats what I feel like is going on now. We honestly haven't lived in our apartment. The day we moved we left for Holden that night... now we have lived in Holden 3 going on 4 weeks. I love Holden, but sometimes you just want to be at home-suitcases aren't fun to live out of. There is always things I want or need and can't get to them.
For now, I have been pretty relaxed living there. Holden seems like a vacation. :) I just forget about my cell phone all the time. Its a slow paced life there which is very nice. I hope to see friends and my family soon. Summer is almost 1/2 over :( but so many exciting things go on during the school year. New babies, holidays, family time, and I get to live in our apartment for once. lol! Dawson is doing great by the way. I will post pics and updates next time I'm here.

A week in Holden

Here is Mr. Dawson with a chocolate chip cookie... The story of how he got it.. well, J.D. and I were downstairs watching a movie, and Dawson wanted to get down and play. Little did mom know, that dad had left cookies on the floor. Dawson managed to pull out the whole tray of cookies out of the package. Luckily he was slowly enjoying one while the rest stayed in the tray... whew! His innocence is so cute!
Here is Dawson again, chowing down. I don't blame him :)

While we were there, J.D. was moving a pile of cement and rocks to the other side of the yard (building a waterfall for his mom) We decided to let Dawson sit up there with J.D. He loved it! He wasn't scared at all!

When he first got up there, this is what he did. He has skills if he already figured out how to drive with a stick. lol!

There is good news. J.D. started the cutting hay job on Thursday. They are just working on fields in Millard county for now, then in a couple of weeks he goes to Cali. So while he's workin close to home, Dawson and I stay at Grandma Stevens'. He has learned to crawl on hands and knees! Hurray! This means I don't have to knock him down when he tries to walk... read on and it will explain why I wanted him to crawl on hands and knees. . .
Grandma Stevens' said if kids don't learn to crawl on hands and knees, then they have a hard time reading (at least that's what she learned in college) So, happy to say, she won't have a dumb grandchild! :) lol
Also, Dawson has learned to walk along furniture, and stand. He can't stand for very long, but he's getting more brave every day. He sure is a busy little boy! I'm definitely in for it. :)

Here are some pics!

So for the month of May I got to stay in Kanab Monday-Thursday and babysit for my sister. We would go to the park a lot and play with the water. It was so much fun! Dawson and I would sit and he'd wait for the water to come out and in the end, he was soaked!

We blew this up just to play with, and Dawson went nuts! He was giggling so much!

As for another update, we moved this last weekend. It was so long and tiring, but I almost have the new place all put together. Now we are just figuring out the job situation between us both. Keep us in your prayers!

Update

So far the month of May has been crazy! I babysit in Kanab for my sister Amy Mon-Thurs, then go back to cedar. We have been going through storage and organizing to decide what can and can't fit in the new apartment. We move next friday... We really hate moving, but oh well... it happens regardless. This weekend we are finishing the bunk beds and lamps-I'll post pics when they are done. Then cleaning the lovely garage and more organizing. :)

J.D. has been studying so hard for the DAT. Everyday he wakes up and just goes at it. He says its hard to study without me and Dawson around... so he goes to Holden and studies until we come home thursday. What a trooper he is and so sweet! :) Please keep him in your prayers that he will be able to do well.

Dawson is gettin so big. After we move we will have internet again and then I'll post some pics. He can stand up in his crib now. J.D. said I needed to let Dawson cry it out when he goes to bed... so I tried it and I just cried with him. It breaks my heart to hear any baby crying, especially my own. So finally I went it there and a good thing I did because the crib gate wasn't all the way up and there Dawson was standing up and tears rolling down his face. I just am not one to let him cry. I don't feel its bad to do. There isn't a right or wrong way of how one chooses to raise kids, kids will still be kids and have there own personality. Some say I need to just let him learn to comfort himself, but I say all in good time he will. I just prefer to rock him to sleep. He's only a baby for so long right? Soon you want to rock them and they won't let you.... too soon for me. lol

I'm doing pretty good. I am getting more and more ancy to start moving. I want to just get it done and get it over with. Then the summer really starts for us. DAT over with, move over with, applying to dental schools is over with and just waiting for school to start. Although it will be kind of lonesome this summer. J.D. leaves to work for 2 months. I get to go stay with friends in Cali and see him whenever I want, which is exciting to see him and our friends.

Well thats all I have for now. I will post pics soon!

Another pictureless update

The other day we got a call about an opening for the scholarship housing. We are moving May 29th-31st! It is such a blessing! I'm excited because the apartment we will be moving into is like 4 doors down from my best friend Brie! Wahoo! I'm excited to be able to spend more time with her and her husband and the baby coming! :) J.D. is finishing up his finals this week and until next tuesday we will be in Missouri at my brothers twin's baby blessing. I'm super excited to see my family out there! And the new babies! They need to know who there favorite Aunt is. :)
When we get back its study time for J.D. He takes the DAT May 29th.. and applies June 1st. Please keep him in your prayers. And yes the DAT is the same day we move... perfect uh? lol! June 2nd J.D. leaves for 2 months to work in cali. That will be hard, but we will make it.
Dawson is doing so good! He is starting to crawl and recognize more and more his surroundings. He is so observant. He is still the happiest baby! We hope all is going well with everyone!
