Spring Break!

We went to Holden all week and here is J.D., Brant, Jetta, and Parker playing cards at Great Grandma Stevens'.

Here is Dawson and Great Grandma Stevens'

We also rode Ringo while we were there. We thought it would be fun for Dawson to see the horse.

This is J.D.'s little brother Parker. J.D. rode with him first (below pic) and then let him ride alone. Afterwards we decided that he's 9.. it's about time he get familiar with a car. So we let him drive down a long dirt road. He did really good!

Here is J.D. teaching Parker. He is a really fast learner!

Here is Dawson and J.D. riding the horse. Dawson absolutely loved it! I thought it was so cute to see them both on the horse. I'm so lucky that J.D. knows how to do stuff like this. Dawson's even more lucky!

As you can see he is super excited and happy about being with dad on the horse. :)

Here is my hottie hubby!

On Monday we just went to visit Ringo. (tuesday is when we rode) Story: J.D. went ahead to try and catch Ringo, but there was no need. He walked right up to me and Dawson. On Tuesday he did it again! We have a touch or just Dawson. It's a gene he inherited from Grandpa Shelley and Grandpa Stevens. They are both real cowboys.

This was Dawson's first time on the horse. It was such a neat experience.
We had such a good time in Holden. We celebrated J.D.'s parent's birthdays, and were able to spend some good quality time with everyone. It's so nice to see family and spend lots of time instead of just a weekend. Plus we want Dawson to be familar with everyone, which he was doing so good with.
Also at the beginning of Spring break on Friday the 13th, we went to one of the most amazing sealings I have ever been to. It was for Andy & Kenzi Alldredge. It was so neat! The reception was so beautiful! Kenzie looked absolutely gorgious! I forgot our SD card so I didn't get pictures. They were both just grinning ear to ear! haha! Congrats to them!

Father like son

This is such a funny photo! Both have just about the same face on :)They look so much alike too
So other than J.D. loving the Incredibles movie, he loves Iron Man too (I like it as well) Anywho, one day I came in and found Dawson trying to eat Iron Man. (He has become very mobile! He is an expert army crawler)
And here is the father and son sticking there tongues out at me! I caught this right at the perfect moment! lol!
Here are the two just chillin! They are so cute! They have almost similar hair styles too! lol
This is J.D.'s hat, and just like J.D. he has it on backwards and smiling about it too!
Besides all of this, he's learned how to get what he wants by fussing with the saddest frowny face or screaming (also like J.D..................jk, J.D. doesn't scream) hahaha!

Yummy Baby Food

About 3 weeks ago we introduced Dawson to baby food. :) He refuses to take a bottle, I don't blame him because me and J.D. tried it... it's disgusting! Even pumping and trying to give him the bottle with my milk he won't take... so we decided to try baby food. (Because of all the stress my milk hasn't been coming in as well, so we've needed to supplement) This was the first time in weeks that he has eaten all of his food and he didn't just spit out most of it! GOOD JOB DAWSON! Whoo hoo!

He really loves to get in the high chair since he's able to sit up and play. He isn't coughing anymore from RSV.. which means he is basically over it! :) He is starting to sit up on his own more and more each day.

Getting Better

So it seems like Dawson is getting better. He is much happier and more playful. His voice isn't as hoarse or just whincing either. His nose is still a bit runny but he's been able to breathe through it for the last couple of days. On a side note, he must have gotten used to being overly spoiled with mom because he has been very needy. Which is way okay, but its hard to get things done when he doesnt want to be put down. Sometimes he just cries and I have no clue why.... maybe he's just letting me know that he's not all the way better and I need to remember that. :)
As for me and J.D., well we are both sick now... (I'd rather it us than Dawson) J.D. seems worse off than me, I just have to remind him its the vitamins that make the difference. So he has started taking vitamins finally. I'm getting pretty irritable though with staying in the house and not leaving. Some of you can probably relate. I just want to get out and do something! But we are all contagious still, especially Dawson, and he feels best at home. It is getting warm and I would go for a walk, but the doc recommended not getting too much fresh air. It's good and helps cure croup, but not with RSV (I guess it aggrivates it). Thank you to everyone for all the prayers. I know they helped. :)

I hate RSV...

I always knew RSV was a scary thing for an infant to get, but I had to idea what to expect. Friday the 13th, I took Dawson in to the doc because he had been so fussy and was starting to cough and I guess what seemed to be like the common cold, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't RSV. The not so nice nurse (I mentioned in an earlier post) just happened to be our nurse and swabbed Dawson for RSV... the test showed negative but he had an ear infection. So we had him on amoxicillin and went to Holden for the weekend. It seemed to just get worse and I thought, maybe its just dry air. We come home and i just had a feeling it was getting serious.. so on Thursday we took him in... the nice nurse swabbed this time and it usually take 15 min. to get results... within 2 MINUTES he was a positive.
(They had seen over 30 patients with RSV and sent 12 in to be hospitalized within 4 hours)
It just breaks my heart to hear him try and cry or talk. He can't hardly breathe and is just so horribly hoarse from coughing. I am constantly listening and making sure he can breathe. With his breathing treatments he broke out into what seemed to be an allergic reaction, but we will find out for sure if thats what it was. I guess its pretty rare to be allergic to the stuff.
He has been such a good baby through it all. I think me and J.D. are both coming down with colds too... it's been an adventurous week thats for sure. They say it lasts upto 21 days... poor little guy. It's hard because there isnt' much more you can do. Steamy bathroom, humidifier and tylenol when the temp. is about 102... I really hate RSV .
We have NO IDEA where he got it. we keep him from church, and social events, grocery store. If he does go with us we try to keep him covered... Plus most people that he's been around are very careful about being around if he's sick. Keep him in your prayers!

What a cute boy!

I took some fun pictures of Dawson in the past week and thought I would share them.

This is the step stool that he got from Uncle Jim and Aunt Bonnie.

This is our happy boy in his crib! :)

Here he is in the high-chair! He loved it because he had the table part holding him up so he could sit up.
