Grandpa Shelley's Visit

Grandpa Shelley was driving down with Grandma Shelley from Orem (after their visit to Uncle Choc's- my brother). Dawson was OVERLY excited! Dawson is definitely a Grandpa's boy for Grandpa Shelley and Grandpa Stevens. He always wants to visit his Grandpa's.

Dawson and Grandpa

Dawson took a picture of everyone! Here's Grandma...
Here's us...

Dawson played with his Grandma,

and Grandpa!

He had so much fun!

We also went out to eat at Sizzlers- which has delicious salad bar and kids 3 and under eat free! It was so nice to get to spend time with my parents and see Dawson interact with them.

"Bein Grandpas"

My sister Amy's car tire went flat on the freeway, so J.D. and I headed south to go save her. We ended up staying the night in St. George because it was so late by the time we were done. In the morning, Aunt Jori came over and made pancakes for us at my mom's! Carson and Dawson decided they wanted to be Grandpa's..... I imagine this is what they will be like one day in their old age, but I guess they wanted to get a head start on figuring out how to be old.

First, they needed the right kind of grandpa shoes...

then they used the shovel and ho to work as canes...

and then they started on their morning walk around the neighborhood.
(Please keep in mind that my mother lives in a senior citizen community... )

Dawson is always sporting his dinosaur costume.... I'm not sure why, but he became a pro and hitting people with his tail. I guess it's better than hitting them with his 'cane.'Of course, they are just boys ..
and that's why we found a big hole in the neighbors garden that these two hooligans dug up. I have to be proud that they found a double use for their 'canes'

Our Valentine's Day

This year Dawson had a valentine, and J.D. and I were able to go on a date...alone...together... It was a really good day/night!

Dawson's valentine was Andi! They haven't played together for awhile, but every time they do they have so much fun together! It's so fun to watch them play.
Hugs..... AND....

....KISSES!

J.D. suprised me with a tanning pass- WOOHOO! I'm so excited! For some reason, when I'm tan I feel more confident- which is something I struggle with behind the scenes.

Then we went on a date to the movies with our friends the Shakespears. And a HUGE thank you to our niece Sari for driving over to babysit! J.D. out my outfit for the night. Believe it or not- most of my clothes are picked out by him. (He has much better taste than I do) Before we left, we started the date off with a kiss!

We went and saw "The Vow." It was such a good date movie, and a good cuddle movie!
Thanks for such a great 5th Valentine's Hunners! I love you!

Shootin' the cars!

We have an extremely busy road in front of our apartment. For the longest time it's been an annoyance to us because we can't just let Dawson run outside. For about 9 months we've been able to let him roam a little further away from us and not be right next to him. Now I can sit outside the door and watch him play. He's learned to not go into the road- that's a plus! The other plus is that he's realized how annoying the cars are as well. So his solution.....

Shoot em'

It was hilarious to watch him hide behind trees and boxes, then secretly shoot the cars. He then just started shooting them and letting them see him. He's so brave! No fear! Some days I wish I could do the same... those darn cars...

My Name!

Isn't this the cutest little man ever! AND he's learning how to write his name! He traced this all by himself! He's a proud little man!

After we got done with his name, Dawson insisted on hanging it up on the fridge. It's funny how little kids just know that's what you do when you draw a picture or have done something of great accomplishment- hang it on the fridge. :-) Good job pally boy!

Dawson's idea of how to make a bed...

One day I was busy in the kitchen cooking and cleaning and cooking ....and so on. Dawson was so tired of me not being able to leave the kitchen for very long... so he built a bed so he could take a nap and be in the same room as me. He's so smart! He aligned them so perfectly!

He definitely thinks he's taller than what he really is... or he's just like his parents who just need extra extra space when they sleep. Either way- he did an awesome job and kept trying to say, "It's comf-ter-bowl."

Train Station

Dawson is so smart! And extremely talented! He kept telling me he wanted to build a train station with his train. So when I came in he had his linkin logs out and ready to build. I showed him where to place each log, but he built this himself. He would pick up people and horses and even cargo on the train and drive it around the track. He played for hours with this! I loved it it to! It's amazing how creative he is!
