Our Valentine's Day

This year Dawson had a valentine, and J.D. and I were able to go on a date...alone...together... It was a really good day/night!

Dawson's valentine was Andi! They haven't played together for awhile, but every time they do they have so much fun together! It's so fun to watch them play.
Hugs..... AND....

....KISSES!

J.D. suprised me with a tanning pass- WOOHOO! I'm so excited! For some reason, when I'm tan I feel more confident- which is something I struggle with behind the scenes.

Then we went on a date to the movies with our friends the Shakespears. And a HUGE thank you to our niece Sari for driving over to babysit! J.D. out my outfit for the night. Believe it or not- most of my clothes are picked out by him. (He has much better taste than I do) Before we left, we started the date off with a kiss!

We went and saw "The Vow." It was such a good date movie, and a good cuddle movie!
Thanks for such a great 5th Valentine's Hunners! I love you!

Shootin' the cars!

We have an extremely busy road in front of our apartment. For the longest time it's been an annoyance to us because we can't just let Dawson run outside. For about 9 months we've been able to let him roam a little further away from us and not be right next to him. Now I can sit outside the door and watch him play. He's learned to not go into the road- that's a plus! The other plus is that he's realized how annoying the cars are as well. So his solution.....

Shoot em'

It was hilarious to watch him hide behind trees and boxes, then secretly shoot the cars. He then just started shooting them and letting them see him. He's so brave! No fear! Some days I wish I could do the same... those darn cars...

My Name!

Isn't this the cutest little man ever! AND he's learning how to write his name! He traced this all by himself! He's a proud little man!

After we got done with his name, Dawson insisted on hanging it up on the fridge. It's funny how little kids just know that's what you do when you draw a picture or have done something of great accomplishment- hang it on the fridge. :-) Good job pally boy!

Dawson's idea of how to make a bed...

One day I was busy in the kitchen cooking and cleaning and cooking ....and so on. Dawson was so tired of me not being able to leave the kitchen for very long... so he built a bed so he could take a nap and be in the same room as me. He's so smart! He aligned them so perfectly!

He definitely thinks he's taller than what he really is... or he's just like his parents who just need extra extra space when they sleep. Either way- he did an awesome job and kept trying to say, "It's comf-ter-bowl."

Train Station

Dawson is so smart! And extremely talented! He kept telling me he wanted to build a train station with his train. So when I came in he had his linkin logs out and ready to build. I showed him where to place each log, but he built this himself. He would pick up people and horses and even cargo on the train and drive it around the track. He played for hours with this! I loved it it to! It's amazing how creative he is!

Bonfire

We decided since the weather has been so nice we had to fit in a bonfire to start out the year good, and before I start my last semester. The night was perfect, it wasn't freezing like we thought it would and there weren't any bugs or mosquitoes out.

Dawson is entertained by anything outdoors, he found so many sticks to draw in the ground with, pretend they are guns, or just to chuck in the fire. My mountain man got off work, and didn't waste a minute loading things so we could spend more time up in the hills. His mouth is a little puffy and numb because he had to get an emergency root canal at the dentist that afternoon. So J.D. worked 10 hours, got 2 root canals in the same tooth, was so tired, but wasn't going to let anything get in the way of the bonfire.

The mountain man's lovely wife. :-)

The best parts about living out of the city is that you can always see the stars shining so bright!

Me and Dawson cookin our marshmellows. Dawson didn't even eat a smore, he just loved putting something in the fire. lol! Little pyro (however u spell it)

The other high light of bonfires is that I don't have any dishes or mess to clean up when I get home. I love it! We had hot dogs, chips, smores, and delicious hot chocolate!

Shorts in January

The weather this week has been so warm! So we headed outside for some fresh air. Dawson and I were starting to get snuffy noses and cold symptoms, so I figured fresh air, vitamins, and orange juice would help do the trick in avoiding getting really sick. So we secluded ourselves, and played outside everyday.
And yes, Dawson is in shorts! lol! It was warm enough to wear shorts, but cold enough to have a jacket.

We had so much fun!

He rode his 4-wheeler, bike, scooter, and even pulled his wagon around.

AND, fresh air with vitamins and orange juice once a day did the trick! We are cold free! It's a great way to start the new year.
